Choose a practical compression policy
| Mode | Best starting point |
|---|---|
| Lossless | Reduce supported image data without a lossy photographic quality setting. |
| High Quality | Prepare photographic copies with a balance of visual detail and file size. |
| Maximum Savings | Use stronger photographic compression, then review the result at its intended display size. |
Automatic, Photo and Graphics classifications help choose suitable treatment. Graphics and transparency retain the protected lossless path. Metadata settings can preserve supported metadata or remove supported EXIF/GPS data from the generated copies.

Prepare the formats your site can use
Optimization accepts inspected JPEG, PNG and WebP sources. Available outputs include native-format copies, WebP and photographic AVIF when the host supports it. A library that contains other file formats can still be organized without making every format an optimizer input.
Optional extra display sizes fill useful gaps without cropping or enlarging the source. They take additional disk space. Per-image size and pixel limits can allow smaller WordPress sizes to qualify even when the full-size original is too large.
Run a focused batch
- Choose public content sources and the compression policy.
- Use Scan only to review eligible work, or start the optimization run.
- Follow progress and pause, resume or stop at the saved checkpoints.
- Review the results and compare copies before enabling delivery.
Discovery starts from Home, Shop and directly permitted links, plus enabled product and comment-image sources. Only eligible public associations qualify; private media does not become public through optimization.
Work from results, including the skips
Select checked results, the current result page or all matching results for supported bulk actions. Retry with the saved policy, exclude an image, use its original or check its public use from the results workspace.
A copy must meet the minimum saving of both five percent and one KiB to be useful. A skipped result can mean the original is already efficient, an encoder is unavailable or a processing limit applies. Prepared copies become a delivery choice after the required review and settings.
