Separate browsing, prices and purchasing
| Control | Choices |
|---|---|
| Product visibility | Public, approved businesses, or selected business groups. |
| Price visibility | Everyone with catalog access, approved businesses, or nobody. |
| Purchasing | Everyone with visible prices, approved businesses, or nobody. |
| Business quantities | Minimum, maximum and whole-unit increments for the selected product or category. |
Restrictions combine: a public product rule cannot unlock a restricted category. Hiding a price column in an order form is a display preference; access rules control permission.
Three separate access decisions
- Browse
Who may see the product?
- See a price
Who may see the amount?
- Purchase
Who may buy within the quantity rules?
A visible column does not grant purchasing permission.

Match the quantity to how you sell
Use a minimum and step of six for a case of six. Apply a maximum when larger quantities must be refused. Product or variation quantity rules take precedence over category quantity rules.
A quote threshold has a different purpose: it asks for negotiation above a quantity. Do not pair it with a lower maximum that would also block the agreed quoted purchase.
Private business content
Restrict selected WordPress pages and posts to approved businesses, named business groups, pending applicants or retail visitors. Rules apply to the selected item, rather than automatically inheriting to its children.
Essential account, login, cart, checkout, signup and privacy pages are protected from this editor’s restrictions. WordPress editors retain access to content they are permitted to edit.
Keep personalized content personal
Exclude account-specific pages from shared page caching and check allowed and disallowed sessions after changing access. Restricted content is omitted from native public sitemaps, feeds and oEmbed.
A media file linked from a restricted page can still have its own public address. Protect downloadable files through the workflow that owns them.
