Install and open Free Gifts & BOGO
Set product eligibility, coupon behavior, reward value basis and customer wording.
- In WordPress, open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the installable Free Gifts & BOGO runtime ZIP.
- Install and activate it, or replace the current package when updating. Keep the existing saved rules.
- Open the License tab of Free Gifts & BOGO (its own menu, or AffStackDev → Free Gifts & BOGO with the Suite) and activate your Free Gifts & BOGO license key for the right site environment (Production for your live store). Without an active license no offer is shown to shoppers.
- Open AffStackDev → Free Gifts & BOGO with Suite, or the standalone Free Gifts & BOGO menu.
- Review Settings for shared exclusions, coupon spending basis, gift-value defaults, presentation and retention.
Create a customer-choice offer
Set the number of free items, eligible gift selection and optional value limit.
- Open Promotions → Add promotion and choose Customer picks a freebie from the catalog.
- Select spending as the earning measure and enter the threshold, such as $75 of eligible merchandise.
- Choose the purchases that count, then select the gift pool and exclusions.
- Set one free item and a maximum value, such as $20 per gift.
- Write the public title, description and terms. Review the schedule, then publish and enable the offer.
- Use Preview for the saved rule, then check the qualifying cart with an eligible shopper.
For a classic shortcode Checkout, choose the gift in Cart first. In Cart and Checkout Blocks, use the gift picker in the supported shopping area.
Review the customer journey
Add qualifying merchandise, choose a gift and then change that choice. Keep a paid copy of the gift product in the cart to confirm the paid and free lines stay separate.
Reduce the purchase below the threshold, restore qualification and try the intended coupon combination. Review the resulting WooCommerce order with your store’s test payment setup before running a new offer for customers.
Answers to common setup questions
Why is the cart total above the threshold but no gift appears?
Only eligible paid merchandise counts. Check exclusions, the coupon basis, an additional minimum spend, account eligibility and competing promotions. Shipping, taxes, fees and gifts do not help qualify.
Why can an item earn the offer but not be chosen as a gift?
Purchase qualification and gift selection have separate controls. Check gift-only exclusions, the pool, value cap, concrete variation and stock.
Why did the chosen gift disappear?
The purchase, coupon, schedule, rule, account or product availability may have changed. The current cart rechecks the offer.
Why does a business account have no consumer gift?
The supported B2B/Core connection excludes pending, approved and suspended business states, even when an approved account has no percentage discount.
What happens to my data if I deactivate Free Gifts & BOGO?
Deactivation preserves it. Uninstall also retains data by default. The explicit cleanup setting concerns owned promotion configuration; WooCommerce orders, products, customers, coupons and attribution retain their owners.
