Choose the qualifying merchandise
Choose qualifying categories, tags, attributes and WooCommerce product types.
Count all eligible paid products or select products, exact variations, categories, tags, product types and supported product groups. A selected scope can match any of your chosen inclusion groups; exclusions still apply afterward.
Use spend, quantity or a quantity requirement with an additional minimum spend. Free reward lines never contribute to the amount or count that earns another gift.
Three useful kinds of exclusion
Shared exclusions apply to qualifying purchases and rewards.
| Exclusion | Effect |
|---|---|
| Purchase-only | The item does not help earn the offer, but may still be an eligible gift. |
| Gift-only | The item cannot be awarded free, but its paid purchase may help qualify. |
| Shared or global | Restrict both qualification and gift selection. |
The purchase-only and gift-only category controls include descendant categories. A parent-product exclusion covers its variations; an exact-variation exclusion applies to that option.
Use merchandise spend before or after coupons
Spend qualification excludes shipping, taxes, fees and gifts. It starts with the eligible merchandise at its active product prices, then uses your selected coupon basis.
With $80 of eligible merchandise and a $10 coupon, an after-coupon rule measures $70. A before-coupon rule measures $80. The separate coupon-combination setting decides whether that coupon is allowed alongside the gift at all.
Handle sale, virtual and downloadable products
Set shared defaults for these product traits, then let a promotion inherit or explicitly allow or exclude each one. An item with several traits must satisfy the combined conditions.
A rule-level trait choice does not override an explicit product or category exclusion. Custom product types also retain the purchasing requirements of the extension that owns them.
Keep business eligibility with B2B
When the supported B2B and Commerce Core connection is in use, pending and approved business accounts do not receive consumer gifts, including accounts whose business discount is zero. Suspended business accounts also remain excluded.
Commerce Core supplies the shared audience decision. Free Gifts & BOGO keeps the offer configuration and applies that decision to its own rewards.
