Install and activate
- Install the Gate Manager plugin ZIP through WordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Open Settings → Gate Manager, or AffStackDev → Gate Manager when Suite is active.
- Open License, enter the free Gate Manager key from your account and select the correct installation environment.
- Activate the license and review the Gates list before changing your visitor setup.
A first installation includes a 21+ confirmation that excludes the homepage and signed-in visitors; it is switched off until you enable it. New gates and presets you create afterward also begin disabled so you can finish configuring them.
Create the visitor experience
- Choose a gate type or start from a preset.
- Give it a name, set the visitor wording and select included paths and exclusions.
- Complete the requirement: selected roles, credentials, email options, dates or locations as appropriate.
- Save the disabled gate and preview it at desktop and phone widths.
- Enable the gate, clear the relevant page cache and check its behavior as the intended visitor.

Common questions
Why does my administrator account bypass the gate?
Administrator bypass is enabled for ordinary server access gates by default. Coming Soon and Maintenance always allow administrators. Use the saved preview for appearance and a signed-out or appropriate customer account for the actual visitor journey.
Why is a confirmation not appearing again?
The visitor may have a current answer, be excluded by the path or logged-in setting, or encounter an earlier access requirement. Use Reset gate choices and check the rule explanation.
Can I upgrade an existing Age Gate installation?
Yes. Gate Manager keeps the existing plugin identity and migrates legacy settings. Replace the installed ZIP through WordPress rather than uninstalling first.
