Unified Email Manager / Subscribers & Consent

Build a list that respects the people on it.

Collect confirmed newsletter subscriptions, keep customer preferences accessible and distinguish permission from stronger sending stops. A customer record or audience match is not an automatic opt-in.

Confirmed newsletter signup without a store account.

Newsletter Subscribers manages newsletter-only identities while customers and orders remain in WordPress and WooCommerce. Enable signup deliberately, save the consent statement and place the newsletter signup form in a WordPress Shortcode block. The customer guide includes the shortcode and placement instructions.

Visitors enter their email, optionally a first name, and select the initially unchecked opt-in. A confirmation message goes through your existing mail setup. Opening its link does not subscribe them; they confirm deliberately on the linked page. The single-use proof expires after 48 hours.

A newer opt-out is not overridden by an older pending proof. A fresh confirmed ownership flow can renew a recipient’s own opt-out, but not an administrative or delivery suppression.

Keep checkout and account preferences clear.

Optional checkout capture

Use UEM’s unchecked checkbox or a supported consent integration. Classic checkout and the native Block checkout Order information location have their supported controls.

A narrow account choice

Authenticated customers manage the preference for the current email shown by the form. An address change does not silently transfer old consent to another mailbox.

Unsubscribe stays available

Public and account stopping controls remain usable when paid access is unavailable. Removing a newsletter record first preserves the protective suppression identity.

An unchecked checkout box leaves existing consent unchanged; it is not an unsubscribe action. Submitting checkout does not clear an earlier unsubscribe, administrative stop or delivery suppression.

Permission and suppression are different decisions.

Consent can come from UEM’s recorded permission or a supported integration contract. Selecting an integration does not automatically read another plugin’s private records. A local denial or suppression remains stronger than an ordinary external grant.

Authorized staff have separate controls to record permission, suppress an address and explicitly restore renewed consent. Recording a grant alone does not clear a stop. Restoration is a deliberate action that should reflect actual renewed permission.

Provider bounce/complaint recording is reporting; it does not automatically edit UEM’s Marketing suppression list in this edition. Review problems and apply the appropriate supported suppression or intentional integration.

Coordinate how often you contact someone.

The shared Marketing frequency setting allows one to 20 reserved live attempts per recipient over a rolling one to 30 days when enabled. Campaigns, Marketing sequence steps, promotional Event Emails and cart reminders share the allowance.

Source-owned notifications, necessary service messages, signup confirmations and controlled tests stay outside that Marketing cap. Deferrals remain bounded by each workflow’s sending window or expiry rather than becoming an unlimited waiting list.

Signups use signed evidence, request limits and a honeypot. Newsletter and recovery privacy tools preserve necessary suppression when removing eligible owned data.
