AffStackDev / Store Credit
Sell store value. Make it giftable.
Offer credit through ordinary virtual WooCommerce products, with control over amounts, recipients, expiry and later spending.
Store Credit & Gift Cards for WooCommerce. Current software and delivery workflows.
Native products
Your catalog, your product presentation.
Gift Cards creates a draft or opens an existing native product. WooCommerce continues to manage its name, description, image, catalog visibility and order line. Publishing remains a separate merchant decision.
In this edition, credit-sale products must be virtual simple products with a positive base price and Tax status: None. This is a software requirement, not a determination of your business’s tax obligations. Variable credit products and a separate new-product-editor integration are not supplied.
These are gift-card products you sell to shoppers in your own store. Purchase the AffStackDev software license separately through its software listing.
Four value modes
Choose the amount model that fits the offer.
| Value mode | Customer pays / receives |
|---|---|
| Credit equals price | The current positive WooCommerce price—including a native sale price—is also the issued credit value. |
| Fixed face value | The current product price is charged; a separately configured fixed amount is issued. Example: pay $25, receive $30. |
| Preset amounts | The customer chooses a configured denomination. That amount is both the price and value. Up to 20 denominations. |
| Custom amount | The entered amount must fit your minimum, maximum, increment and currency precision. That accepted amount is both price and value. |
For a $10 minimum and $5 increment, $10, $15 and $20 are valid steps; $12 is not. The server validates the selection rather than trusting a browser-supplied total.
Gifts and recipients
One recipient per line. One credit per purchased unit.
Purchase for yourself
Account self-purchases belong to the order customer. Guest self-purchases use the final billing email.
Offer or require gifting
Choose purchaser-only, optional gifting or a required recipient. An email matching an existing account can bind to that owner.
Personal messages
Keep a gift message separate from private staff notes. Add separate lines when recipients or messages differ.
Quantity two creates two independent credits for that line’s recipient, not one doubled balance. Per-product limits range from 1–20 and the order can contain at most 20 credit units, including split lines.
Set supported expiry terms and choose immediate or scheduled gift-email delivery. Use the current guide to configure delivery timing and recipient claiming.
Payment and delivery
Issue the paid value once—even after a retry.
The purchase freezes its validated amount, units, recipient and spending rules. Pending, On hold and Failed orders do not issue new purchased credit. Cash on delivery waits until Completed, and the paid date must be present.
Each order/item/unit retains a permanent issuance identity. Repeating payment notifications or recovering an interrupted purchase finds committed units and creates only those missing. A later product edit does not change an already-purchased gift.
The existing Store credit issued email carries the amount, code, message and relevant saved policies. A delivery failure does not cancel a funded credit. Use resend for the same credit rather than another purchase issuance.
Purchase safeguards
Do not let credit create credit for free.
Both ordinary coupons and Store Credit are excluded from credit-sale lines. Other eligible merchandise can still receive its permitted discounts, but credit-sale goods must retain the configured purchase price. Free Gifts & BOGO or overridden-price routes cannot turn them into free spendable value.
Purchased-credit refunds use a whole-order safeguard. Before a normal WooCommerce refund on an order containing purchased credit—even a partial refund intended for other merchandise—explicitly stop further issuance and revoke unused purchased credit. Then request the cash refund separately. Reserved or net-used credit needs resolution; stopping is permanent.
The native order view provides records and supported retry/stop actions. Out-of-band processor refunds and chargebacks require separate reconciliation. This is not item-specific gift-card refund allocation.
Product forms
Keep the normal checkout. Supply the required choices.
The ordinary product form receives amount, recipient and message fields. If a block product template omits those form hooks, its editor can use the supplied shortcode with that credit product’s real ID. Your Cart/Checkout Blocks can remain in place; product-entry controls and checkout are separate surfaces.
