Independent benefits
Choose what the friend receives. Set the referrer’s reward separately.

| Program choice | Friend | Referring customer |
|---|---|---|
| First-purchase discount | Gets the configured eligible merchandise reduction at the qualifying checkout. | Earns separately configured credit after payment and the waiting period. |
| Credit after purchase | Earns configured credit after the qualifying purchase and waiting period. | Earns their separately configured credit from the same qualification process. |
A reward for each side of the introduction.
For the friend
Choose an immediate first-purchase discount or credit earned after the qualifying purchase.
For the referring customer
Set a separate credit reward. It can be the same amount as the friend’s benefit or a different amount.
For your store
Set qualification, waiting periods, and separate reward-spending compatibility rules.
The friend receives one selected benefit mode, not a discount and another credit for that same side. Referral credit rewards are merchandise-only and tax-exclusive, with their own saved restrictions.
Participation
A personal link and an explicit invitation.
A signed-in customer opens Refer a Friend in My Account—or the same panel placed with its shortcode—to create a reusable share link, read the terms and see their own reward history. The link is not a spendable credit code.

Customers copy or share it themselves. The module does not import contacts or send unsolicited invitations to an address book. A friend must accept the invitation and complete a qualifying first purchase; opening a link alone does not earn value.
The invitation lives with the Woo shopping session. The configured window does not promise cross-device tracking or persistence beyond the actual session. First-purchase checks consider the applicable account/email and previous claims, and self-referrals are refused.
Qualification and compatibility
Earning and spending need different rules.
Qualifying spend uses eligible net merchandise after other discounts and before the friend’s own discount. Taxes, shipping, fees, zero-price rewards, credit-sale products and subscription products do not increase that threshold. An immediate benefit must leave a positive eligible remainder.

Set product/category scope, exclusions, invitation and hold periods, separate reward expiry and lifetime claim limits. Exclusions take precedence; category descendants need explicit selection in the referral rules. Claim limits count accepted claims, including unpaid or cancelled cases—not only successful rewards.
Qualify the order
Decide which supported coupons, sale prices, credit sources and companion offers can coexist while earning.
Spend the friend’s credit
Choose the later redemption policy for the friend-credit mode independently.
Spend the referrer’s credit
Give the referrer’s issued reward its own combination and scope rules.
Each category offers allow all supported, allow none, only selected and all except selected. Permission in this program does not override a native individual-use coupon or another plugin’s veto. Unknown third-party pricing is not assumed safe.
Processing
Works alone or with compatible AffiliPartnerCS.
Store Credit can process the consumer program itself. With the completed compatible AffiliPartnerCS connection, that product can process the dedicated customer referrals and request Store Credit fulfillment. Participants are still customers—not professional affiliates with commission thresholds.
Store Credit remains the owner of the canonical referral journal and credit balances. Existing claims keep their original processor when a setting changes. An unavailable processor pauses its claims rather than letting a fallback pay them again.
Rewards retain the values and policies promised at checkout. A retry can finish a missing reward side without duplicating the other. In the two-credit mode, both credits remain blocked from spending until the pair is fully settled.
History and exceptions
Make holds, rewards and review understandable.
Customers see their own pending, earned or cancelled reward history without another person’s email, basket or private account information. Merchants see claim state, due reason, linked records and protected retry/reconcile or cancellation actions.
Any qualifying-order refund, including a partial one, conservatively cancels both rewards in this edition. Unused rewards can be revoked; spent or reserved rewards enter review. There is no automatic negative balance, unrelated-credit clawback or debt collection.
Disabling the program stops new participation; it does not silently erase accepted obligations. Resolve existing claims through their saved records and normal review tools.
